Born in Chicago, John Mesoloras has been an active performer and teacher on the Madison area music scene for nearly a decade. A versatile bassist, he can be seen playing both double bass and electric bass in a variety of settings including the Gerri DiMaggio Trio, the Madison Jazz Orchestra, and Joe Scalissi and the Dry Martinis. He is currently the Orchestra Director at Mount Horeb Middle and High Schools.

While a student at UW-Whitewater, John was a founding member of its Jazz Symposium, and performed on the group's two tours throughout Europe which included the Montreaux and North Sea jazz festivals. Recent performance highlights include, The Telluride Jazz Festival, Jazz at 5 with Sheila Jordan, as well as performances with Gerri DiMaggio in Manotova Italy, Madison’s sister city. Among his teachers were UW-Madison Professor Richard Davis and Jeff Eckels.

Additionally over the past 15+ years john has been involved in music production and recording. Having a master’s degree in music performance, and a wide variety of experience with different styles are one of John’s strengths he brings to a production. In the studio he offers a laid back, but meticulous technical attitude, to facilitate both the performance and the production. John is available to engineer or play on your next project.
